Assassinate Tips¶

Assassinate is ACB's main free-for-all mode. Its main focuses are on movement and lock timing, as the mode allows every player in the lobby to acquire and release targets whenever they want. As there is no detection meter without a target, releasing a target also resets a player's detection meter, allowing players to get high point kills without ever leaving high profile.

Controls¶

Assassinate is the only mode where the unlock button is used. This is usually set to triangle on a PlayStation controller, Y on an Xbox controller, or R on a QWERTY keyboard. The lock button can also be used to unlock, but this is riskier, as it can also simply change the target, which might lead to unwanted detection meter reduction.

General Gameplay¶

Assassinate can take some getting used to, but newcomers can usually quickly get into it using a few simple rules:

• Use the lock and unlock so you never chase. If you don't immediately get a kill after locking, your best bet is to unlock and try again.
• Never let go of the high profile button.
• Use poison and sprint boost until you feel comfortable, then switch out sprint boost for smoke bomb.

Streaks¶

In assassinate, your main goal is usually to rack up streak bonuses, specifically the +300 points 3 silent kills streak. As such, for your first kill, you can play very risky, but after your second kill, you should try to maintain a more defensive approach, such as looking to kill others while they're in a kill animation.

Stuns¶

The unlock button can be used to avoid getting stunned through any ability, such as smoke bomb or mute. You should take advantage of this as best you can, as getting stunned and killed takes significantly longer than a normal kill, meaning you should unlock in almost every case where you're met with a defensive ability.

On the other hand, this also means that using abilities defensively is very inefficient, and can also leave you very vulnerable to surrounding players. This is why abilities in assassinate are usually offense focused, such as poison, sprint boost, or firecrackers. Smoke bomb is a very popular ability, but is usually just used to keep a player safe from other players while they're in a kill animation.

Additional tips that I need to incorporate¶

1. back off from rooftops when compass is full if you see the compass getting bigger and youre below a wall of any kind, back away because theres a good chance someone is above you and can get a free arial on you

2. Lock above and below buildings when compass is full. you can lock people before even seeing them if theyre above or below you. So if you know someone is climbing up towards you or is right above you as youre climbing, just look up and lock and chances are it will auto lock them
